Concorde Farewell

Air France has been taking its Concordes out of service at the end of May 2003 and donated them to various museums during the month of June. F-BVFB has gone to the "Auto und Technik-Museum" in Sinsheim, Germany, to be displayed next to its Russian counterpart, the Tupolev Tu-144 (for photos from a visit to that museum, please check out the appropriate album on this website). The airport nearest to Sinsheim is Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden, and that's where the beautiful supersonic jet made its last landing on June 24, 2003.

As Baden-Baden is just about 90 minutes driving time from where I live I decided to take the day off and witness the landing of what will probably be the last active Concorde I will get to see.
