Crossair
Short history of the airline:
Crossair was founded in Basel in 1975, originally as "Business Flyers Basel" with three small aircraft. That name was changed to Crossair in 1979. The airline was one of the very first to offer international regional services within Europe and paved the way for many more regional carriers. Always highly successful with its operations, it unfortunately was forced to become a subsidiary of Swissair in 1991. After Swissair went bankrupt in 2001 Crossair took over a part of Swissair's flight schedule and, with its much lower administrative and operating costs, formed the core of the new intercontinental airline of Switzerland called "Swiss", which replaced both Crossair and Swissair in 2002.
