Miami 1990
Miami was still nicknamed "Propsville USA" in the early 90's, and this, as well as the encouraging tales from spotting friends about the interesting traffic there, prompted me to spend two weeks at MIA in early 1990 as my first spotting trip overseas, with a week-end at Fort Lauderdale thrown in to catch some of the charters.
Miami absolutely lived up to its reputation, with quite a few beautiful propliners - above all of course the Super Constellations flown by Aerochago and AMSA - still actively earning their keep, as well as lots and lots of older jet types like DC-8's and B707's and colorful liveries. Compared with today's dull monotony of mostly white new generation Boeings and Airbuses at every major airport in the world, it was just heaven...
